Terms & Conditions
Bookings & Payments:
A booking is NOT CONFIRMED until the required deposit has been received.
A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to collection. Failure to make payment may result in your booking being cancelled without notice and deposit forfeit.
Once you have accepted your quote, I will hold your preferred collection date for 24 hours. If the deposit has not been made within this window, you are at risk of your invoice and date being cancelled.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion.
Collection:
Once a cake has been collected, responsibility transfers to the customer. Customers must inspect their order before leaving. No refunds or replacements will be provided for damage occurring after collection.
Customers are responsible for picking up their orders at the scheduled time. Once a cake has been picked up or delivered, we are not responsible for any damage caused by improper handling, storage, or transportation.
If you do not collect your order on time, it will be subject to cancellation without notice, with no refund or store credit given, or a new pick up time/day will need to be discussed. Please treat your pick up time as if it were an appointment and do not be late. I will NOT be available outside of your chosen pick up time.
Changes to your order:
Deposits are non-refundable.
If you need to cancel your order you can use the deposit as a store credit. Any cancelations made, need to be emailed 7 days prior to collection to bakedbyshontae@gmail.com.
Changes to the design of your cake need to be communicated in writing.
Minor design changes will be accommodated where possible. Requests to change flavours, colours, size, design, or collection dates are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.
No changes will be accepted within 7 days of collection. Quotes are individual for each cake, any changes incurring a fee, will have a updated invoice sent.
Allergies:
All products are prepared in a kitchen that handles.
Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Eggs, Peanuts, Tree nuts & Shell fish.
While every effort is made to minimise cross-contamination, Bakedbyshontae cannot guarantee any product is allergen free. Customers with severe allergies should not place an order.
Fresh flowers - fresh flowers are not food-safe unless professionally prepared. While precautions are taken where flowers are supplied by Bakedbyshontae, customers assume responsibility for removing flowers before serving.
Refunds:
We take full responsibility for ensuring your cake design is as accurate as possible. Due to the nature of our product:
Refunds are not provided due to change of mind.
Refunds will not be issued where a design differs slightly from inspiration images. Incorrect information provided at the time of ordering, minor variation in colour/ decoration or handmade finishes. Or any damage that occurs after collection or delivery, will not be eligible for refund.
Taste and texture are subjective and not solid grounds for a refund.
If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of collection. We require photographs of the cake and at least 90% of the item must be returned to us within 48 hours of collection for us to investigate this further. Where genuine fault has occurred, we will assess the matter and offer an appropriate solution.
Rights:
Bakedbyshontae reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order due to abusive behaviour, harassment, unreasonable demands, non payment or any situation where the business feels unsafe or unable to fulfil the order appropriately.
Bakedbyshontae shall not be liable for failure to fulfil an order due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, power outages, illness or supplier shortages.
By paying a deposit or making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions in full.
